Kitchen play
After dinner tonight we found ourselves having all sorts of fun on the kitchen floor and under the table. These boys are precious to come home to, after the initial 30 minute whiny/clingy phase!

Randoms
Brody, Evan, Riley, and Payton waiting for a snack from Jess....don't they look like dolls :)
Brody's current favorite game on my iPhone is the camera :) I probably have 1,000 pictures taken by him within the last week!
Brody and Evan hanging out together- so cute!
I am still battling my rash, but it is getting better. It really does make me sleepy though! Hopefully I snap out of it tomorrow- I need to kick into superhero bday planning mode for a really special almost 4 year old!!

technical difficulties
Something must have been fixed as all the blog posts I tried doing earlier in the week have now posted, days later! I deleted the repeats- you can go back and look at the funny video of Riley "Say Jess!" since it finally decided to post. This is a good thing though as I didn't take any pictures today. After my post yesterday, I was forced to "relax" today (meaning I didn't leave the house). I woke up with a crazy rash/swollen face and it then spread to my arms/chest/back, yuck! I am about to take some benedryl (would have earlier but it knocks me out and I still had to care for my boys today!) and hope I don't look like I have elephantitis at work tomorrow. My face looks like I'm about 9 months pregnant again :( I have just chosen not to look in the mirror today, but I know it's not better since I can still feel the tightness and itchiness. I used a new "natural" facewash last night- but to make my ears swell up and spread down my arms and body when I didn't use it in the shower?? Not sure if it's related, but I am scared to use the face wash again. It doesn't sound like a food allergy, does it? Not sure, but I am not eating my leftover Tom Yum soup from last night, not taking any chances here!

Relax!
I woke up this morning and posted on Facebook "What to do today??" and I got 2 responses- "relax!" and "nothing!!" It's hard to do either of those when you have 4 boys that have been missing you all week long! I took the advice though and did sneak in a 60 minute nap during the family nap-time at 2pm :)
Here is a cliff note version of our Saturday: Wake up at 6am, make coffee (very important!) and get the milk sippies ready while catching a few minutes of the news before getting the boys out of bed at 6:45am. Milk and Mickey lasts for about 20minutes before we start pulling out crates of toys. At about 8:15 we give the boys breakfast and then play some more before naptime at 9am. During the morning 1.5 hr nap we shower, entertain B, make Ben's eggs/bacon, hang a few pictures, water some flowers, and prepare for our next phase. The boys wake up and we change them all and load up the diaper bag with snacks and water. Play for awhile and then corral everyone into the van for a few hours out of the house. Today we went to SE Portland for lunch and window shopping on Hawthorne. We made it home before the 2pm nap so we played in the backyard for a bit. Once all 4 boys were sleeping Ben and I snuck in a snooze on the couch as well :) By 4:30pm they were all changed and ready for a wagon ride to Grant Park. We conquered the play structures and swings today- Brody said he made 2 new friends as well. The triplets have no fear and even went down the BIG slides all by themselves. It was warm outside and we weren't prepared for the water fountains so we made it home by 6pm and had dinner in the backyard, followed by the snacks I packed for the park and they never ate. We then stripped them down and turned on the sprinkler. That's always pretty funny because Riley always completely freezes when he gets wet and doesn't move...at all. Evan loved it and P was indifferent. Brody, picky as he is, couldn't really let loose because he was too worried about being in his underwear and not his swim trunks- so funny how my parenting has changed from when we only had one!! We got the boys dried off and inside for some bedtime milk and diaper/PJ changes. I was too wiped by this point to think about making an adult dinner, so I sent Ben to pick up some Thai while I got the boys down.
And that's our relaxing Saturday :) At least for the next ??? years!!

Friday!
We had some nice Friday night play after a Friday night walk- we love Fridays!!! I attempted to post a cute video yesterday of Riley saying "Jess" (nanny) and then becoming fixated with himself in the video screen on the iPhone- it was so cute, I am not sure what happened with the posting though- I may have some technical difficulties to work out.
As you can see, these Oregon boys are pretty healthy and happy :)
Evan looking cool
Brody pausing for a quick moment
Riley drove the dump truck up and down
Anyone have experience with walnut trees?? These things drop with lethal force!
Payton made his way up on the deck and thought it was pretty silly!
I'm not sure what is on the agenda yet for the weekend, but I am sure we will figure something out!

Say Jess!
Here is our Nanny, Jess, capturing Riley on video saying her name today! It's so cute and so Riley....he has no problem saying "Jess" until he looses all interest in everything when he sees himself on the screen of her phone :) He is a lover and loves to give kisses but may just love himself the most- haha!

The Wiggles - You Make Me Feel Like Dancing
This has been stuck in my head since 5:30pm :) We originally received the Wiggles DVD from Auntie Bev when we were living in her basement last summer in Minot....it didn't get much play time at the time, but has proven to be a big hit as of late! The babes and Brody love to gather around and shake their booties (must get a video) for just long enough for me to get dinner ready and on the table after being bombarded with "love" when getting home from work for the day. It's a nice change from the Gigglebellies and when I need to pull it out again at bedtime during our "wind-down" time, it gives me a chance to be silly and dance with boys myself! The boys, on most days, get me pretty overwhelmed when I walk in the door and I am thankful for this distraction so I can help prepare for the rest of the evening. The evenings are short on time, but much cherished- especially when we can be silly and dance together :)
Updates: I love the MANY kisses I receive from each one of them- melts my heart, Riley has been a "leech" and only happy at my hip or in Dad's lap, they have all been getting multiple bumps and scrapes as they get more adventurous, they are still eating like MAD but not liking the transition to cold milk with carnation (for extra calories for Payton) as opposed to the nice room temp pediasure (SO expensive!!); they are signing and speaking only a handful of words but seem to understand much more; they ADORE their big brother (who is learning the meaning of patience); and everyone LOVES nanny Jess! Brody is going to do a soccer camp the week of his Birthday (he is FOUR on August 6th!!!!) and is super excited to get his first pair of shingaurds. I seem to be doing well and having energy most nights (post triplet bedtime) with the exception of Monday and Fridays! Ha! Thank goodness Ben understands and picks up my slack when I just can't get motivated to do much else besides get the boys to bed and tend to work emails that need my attention. We are a good team :)
So- go ahead, watch the video....and feel the Wiggles love!! haha

Puzzle Time
I love getting pictures like this from Jess during my day at work :) Brody put these puzzles together (the elephant all by himself) with Jess while the babies napped this morning. He loves his time with J and I love that :) And yes, the trips are 18 months old and I may just call them babies forever!! Teehee ....and also, Brody never sits and smiles cooperatively for pictures for me- but I guess I should be happy that he smiles when he knows the pic is going to be sent to mommy :)

18 Months!!!
We can hardly believe the triplets are already 18 months old! I have said it a million times- what a crazy ride we have had. It's nice to be settled here and feeling "normal"....even though we miss all our families. I don't think it will be long before we get our first round of visitors though :) We are looking forward to introducing our past frequent-visitors to the Eastside (as opposed to the westside), we know they will love it just as much as we do! The babes must know that they will be going in for their 18 month well child check soon, they have the appetites of horses lately. Makes me happy :) Our Sunday went something like this: We got the boys nice and clean this morning, then had a nice family brunch out, came home to play in the backyard, went down for naps, got up and went on walk followed by more outside play and snacks, moved the play inside while mom cooked dinner, let the boys make a mess trying to use their own utensils to eat, cleaned up for more play time, cuddled with some milk sippies, put B in the bath, put the trips to bed, got B out of the bath once he was fully pruned up, cleaned up the toys and kitchen, and now are winding down to B to bed....followed very closely by mom and dad!!

No pics :(
I didn't get any pictures today but I did get some time with my boys! They are doing so good and P is taking more and more steps everyday, just needs to stay confident! After the babes went to bed I took B out with me for a little shopping trip while Ben stayed home and baby proofed some more drawers in the kitchen. Jess will also appreciate this :) Nanny Jess has been AMAZING and gets the boys to the park daily while Ben continues his job search. A few leads will hopefully pan out soon- he is READY! I am trying to coordinate them joining me for lunch at work tomorrow- I am well known as the "lady with triplets", so visits are a must :) Pictures aren't good enough and a visit from my boys will make my Friday complete.

Busy Mama
Ben took this picture of me this morning at 7am since I wouldn't see my boys until 7am tomorrow morning! I JUST got home from work.... I am going to have to adjust my 365 day blog post challenge- obviously! Yes, I'm busy- but it's good work, the right work....for a lot of cancer patients and that's what makes it the right work. It will get better, I will adjust after getting on boarded and caught up. I love my family and I love my work. I will make this work!!! I

Time Flies
I am looking into the process of backing up my iPhone again since I have a new one for work. I will be so sad to give up my personal number but can't justify carrying 2 iPhones! It's been one day with 2 functioning phones and already proving to be a nightmare ;) So I was going through my old pictures on my phone and came across this cute one of EPR and can't believe how much they have changed in 7 short months! They have such chunky baby faces (and I always thought they were too skinny!) and baby hair- I can't help but smile when I look at it. These slick-ricks now look like surfer-bums!! xo

Silly Sunday
Riley (with his battle wounds), Payton (soaking per usual) and Evan (not quite awake yet)
Brody was being silly blocking the camera with his foot (his toast looks really burnt!! Oops)
Riley playing peek-a-boo
The start of P's silly faces
Go P!!
So handsome :)
The whole bin to myself???
Dad and his boys (BERP)
We had fun day "in" today. It rained until mid-day so we had lots of playtime and organization :) We rearranged the triplets room (again), went through "junk" baskets, did laundry, applied some fake-bake (mom only), and did lots of wiping and vacuuming.
Between all that fun, Brody had some playtime with his new friend across the street and even more playtime when our friends from the west-side came out for a visit. We took all the boys in the backyard for some fun but it was short loved after Riley biffed it off of the stairs (he has been doing so good going down backwards too :( ). He took a step forward like a big boy and tumbled down to the cement. He even had dripping blood from his scalp, we stayed calm- cleaned him up and luckily it was only a small cut. We moved it back inside and I treated the boys by baking some French fries for dinner- their favorite.
Back to the grind tomorrow!!

Street Fair...Block Party!
We started our Saturday at the Mississippi Street Fair, stopped for some lunch, got home and played in the backyard, and ended the day at a sweet neighborhood block party! Sorry the only picture of the block party is of Riley's scuffed-up knee! We met a lot of really sweet neighbors, new friends (big and small), and the trips enjoyed the freedom of a closed off street. So much so that Riley had to take a nice spill down a steep(ish) driveway. Bloody mouth, elbow and knee- but he didn't mind- he was on the loose! What a perfect day! Oh yes, also because a family nap was involved as well ;)
