Loading up on the tractor pulled hay ride to the pumpkin patch.
Brody holding on to Payton, so sweet.
The best family shot we could get! And they are actually in birth order ;)
We were the first crew to be dropped off at the patch- that meant we practically had it to ourselves and could wander around without worrying where each kid was at!
Riley (and Evan) found the dirt rocks MUCH more interesting than the big orange pumpkins, boys.
Payton guarding our pile as we gathered back up to catch the hay ride back.
Ev and Ri still enjoying the dirt.
I swear Brody was having a good time.
Evan, Dad, and Riley
All the boys eventually made it through the tunnels - Jess was a trooper and helped Payton through and eventually had to coax E and R out at the end.
Riley
King of the Haystack
PJ wanting his bros to come back out.
Evan and Brody enjoying the picnic Jess packed (Jess and Ben had a hotdog and I had a veggie burger from the food cart in addition to helping ourselves to the boys' food- perfect!)
Time to check out the Market
I love this pic! We got filled up with the perfect pumpkins for painting and some squash for decorating that I can also choose from when I crave some yummy baked Fall squash!
It was pretty chilly when we left the house, but it turned out to be a beautiful late afternoon. I had a "gift of time" from a canceled day of commitments and decided to take advantage and enjoy an afternoon off with the family. Best decision, ever. I think I should try and do this once a month- I deserve it with the number of days I end up booked from 7am-8pm. Having the 3 adult ratio is an added bonus to this weekday treat as well- we ALL enjoy having Jess with us for special trips. It was a good day and well timed too because it looks like rain is headed this way Thursday thru at least Sunday - boo. We had so much fun today though that we may check out another pumpkin patch later in the month, depending on how our weekends turn out. This is definitely a tradition we love to uphold!
