Happy Halloween!!
Our superheroes had a great Halloween!!! It was a night of firsts for the triplets (suckers, late night walks, extreme chaos of kids running (including the trips) running the streets wild, and lots of neighborly fun!) and Brody did a great job showing them the ropes when he wasn't running ahead with his friends :) The rain held off and it was the best neighborhood party we have seen yet, and there have been a lot! So many creative outfits, cute kids and family friends. Brody ended the night by handing out candy and was very personable and so polite, especially when they complimented how much they liked our pumpkins! Happy Halloween.

Pumpkin Carvin
Jess has prepped the boys over the last week and taught them how to be good little pumpkin-gut cleaners, that is everyone except for Brody. He likes to supervise and not get his hands dirty- crazy boy! We spent the night gutting the last 3 big pumpkins, and of course had to finish up the fine details after all were in bed. I think Ben learned his lesson and won't buy any stencils again in years to come- easy faces are much easier and just as fun! Fingers are crossed that there won't be any tummy aches tomorrow, we eventually gave in and let them eat the raw pumpkin they seemed to enjoy so much!

Laughter
If only you could here the laughter and giggles that filled the room during this hour of our Sunday evening, it was heartwarming to say the least. I love it when they play nice!

Pizza!!
Pizza is a staple in our house (sadly for my waistline) so I couldn't resist this cute wooden pizza set for the boys. They actually played with one just like it last weekend at a restaurant so I was excited to get one of our own for 50% off! I divided up the pie for them to play with after dinner with good intentions of them keeping their slices separate so all was kept equal while I cleaned up the floor. They kept dropping pieces and getting upset so after my third or forth trip under the table I decided to move them to the playroom to continue their fun. Like most things lately it ended up in a screaming fit as Evan wanted to hoard it all for himself :( Poor boys had to get it taken away for not playing nice with each other. The night went down hill from there and no toys were to be shared by any of them. We soon ran out of toys as they were all taken away and off to bed they went. I need to figure out how to deal with this phase, I just want to play with them with no fights---will that ever happen?? I hope so.

Time flies!
I can't believe tomorrow is already Friday, I don't know where the time goes. We have had a busy night already! Brody doing art (actually last night), monkeys jumping on the bed in the playroom and play time downstairs. The basement definitely isn't a place for play without direct supervision, but it's nice for a change of scenery and new toys/cars that aren't a part of the daily grind. They played so well together down there tonight- it was a good day/night for all :)

Toga!!
PJ was such a sweetie dancing around with my scarf tonight, but when isn't he a sweetie?? There individual personalities crack me up. They also take turns going through different "phases" and by phases we mean funks they get out of fast!! Evan's current phase is "me". It's all Evan or he isn't happy. I am not sure when he forgot that he has 3 brothers that need attention too???? This too shall pass ;)

Books and Brews
We started our morning with a trip to the bookstore for some dry playtime outside of the house. We were there early and had the place to ourselves practically. They all played nicely with the train set and even listened to few stories. After they had enough Brody wanted to go out for lunch, all were in a good mood so we headed to a place where we knew they had indoor play space for the boys. Again, we were there early and did have the place to ourselves. Brody had fun with another train track, Ev and Ri concentrated hard on making pizza and PJ thought his water cup was about the best thing ever. It was a good morning followed by a nice nap and an afternoon of laundry, baths and silliness. The bday weekend for Mama is over (except for my gift certificates for a massage and mani/pedi!), and it was a good one.

Mama's Bday
It's been quiet around this blog because we were busy celebrating my birthday yesterday! It was a wonderful day that started off with bday treats and wishes at work followed by some late afternoon play and present opening with the family and ended with a date downtown with the hubby. It was a great day, but of course I am continuing to call it my bday for the whole weekend :) We had a relaxing day at home today while the rain came down for most of the day outside. You can see by the first pic that Evan has been in a "mood" for most of the day, but Payton and Riley have been very entertaining and quite cute. We are trying not to get in Evan's way tonight and just letting him be- hopefully tomorrow he will snap out of it and join the fun!

Visitors Beware!
Jess sent me this pic the other day and it made me laugh out loud in the middle of meeting :) Riley was refusing to get dressed after bath time. They all love to be in the buff and now that they understand more and respond accordingly it's just too funny when they say "no" to things like getting dressed. We are spending a lot more time paci-free these days and they are quite the chatterboxes. It gets pretty loud in here when they are fighting to be heard and get there points across. I am sure the novelty of them saying no will wear off really quick (it already has a dinner time) but I think we have a little more time to enjoy their newfound independence.

And then there were four...
Payton sees anything comfy and is always the first to take advantage. Brody loves to snuggle his lil peanut brother. Evan wasn't far behind and Riley never likes to be left out! This was the end to our Sunday night- a living room destroyer that provided close to an hour of fun, can't beat that.

Take Two...
I have been saying lately that I haven't been good at taking pictures of the boys lined up like we did before....when it was easy. As of late, most pictures are blurry on the iPhone :( We decided to line the trips up this morning because I loved the way they looked in their cute green pants! The timing was perfect- they just enjoyed some blueberry muffins fresh from the oven after all. It didn't go so well- Riley was not in the mood.
We tried more than these pictures give us credit- we kept giving them back their pumpkins after they were launched across the room and did some dancing and silly noises- nothing worked for the Ri-Guy. I then decided to give Riley some space (he usually is mad/frustrated with Evan over something) and took Evan and Brody for a trip to Trader Joe's (the fearless flyer came in the mail this week and I had everything pumpkin on my mind!)
Fast forward to post-nap and we were off on a family walk. The boys were all chipper and even waited patiently while Dad went into an Estate Sale (he came out really excited about how much stuff there was and how much I would like it....and his purchases? An old yardstick (he has an obsession) and some other metal L-shaped ruler thing. I passed on taking a turn and we continued on our way.)
We passed by a cute stone bench on the boulevard in front of someones house and decided to try our luck at a group shot again- we were even prepared with our camera. This time around was so much better :)
Riley still didn't want to sit still for long but Big Bro Brod was trying his best to contain him for a few shots.
Our boys are so stinkin cute!!!! (EPBR)
Evan has started doing Riley's head-tilt trick, probably because he notices how much it makes us giggle :)
Brody and P- they have a lot of these special moments :)
I am pretty proud of how productive I was today, especially since I wasn't feeling so well (not sure why, just out of sorts). Fresh muffins for breakfast (plus an egg-mac for Ben), lentil/avocado/fresh corn salad for lunch (Evan wouldn't touch it) and homemade chili for dinner! We played a bit in our "new" extra playroom in the unfinished basement- which worked out nicely since I could start laundry and go through a few totes with my name on them while the boys explored the never-before-seen space and toys that had been packed away for a rainy day. (I was excited to see the totes full of cozy Fall sweaters and boots, favorite purses and my darn (1) brown brown suede pump I have been missing for months!!! So nice to have the pair again ;) ) I wasn't the only productive one (although it may come off that way since I am the one blogging- ha!), Ben cleaned up all the toys in the backyard, folded all the laundry I started, washed dishes I left behind, fed Brody lunch while the boys napped and I rested for a few, helped me go through mail, and made a second trip to the store for me so I could make our chili dinner tonight!
It was a good day. We are all tired :)
