TGIT!

I do love Thursdays, not as much as Friday or Saturday but good none the less! The boys were pretty amped up for a second night in a row so we chased them around and played on the deck until bedtime. Thank goodness the sun is going to be out for the weekend!!

Where's Brody??

We almost lost him in the post-flood jungle!! Time to get out the round-up and do some damage on the backyard! If anyone locally has a rotatiller (sp??) let us know ;)

Pre-School Graduate!

Brody had his last day of his first session of Pre-School last Thursday!

We are so proud of this sweet pea and the little boy he has grown into! He loved everything about going to KidCity pre-school~ we were fortunate to get him enrolled in their awesome program. Since Brody has an August Birthday he gets to look forward to 2 more years of pre-school before entering the big K...oh my- I can't believe that all. Brody just has a short break before he goes to one of their "summer camps' next week which is themed "On the Ranch." We can't wait to hear about all that he learns and experiences during the week, and best of all- cousin Dreyden is joining him! Those 2 are going to have a blast :)

Busy Boys

The boys had a jam-packed weekend! The Lake was great, despite the weather. We had lots of fun indoors and made the best of it. When we pulled into town Sunday late-afternoon we dropped the 4 boys off at the Kongelf Case where there was lots of my side of the family in town and ready for a BBQ! Ben and I went home and unloaded the van before returning for more of what was a theme for the weekend- good food ;)

My cousin from MN was in town with their sweet boy, Soren. I couldn't get him to look at the camera- he and Payton were having too much fun!

Ben reading Brody his new book- Captain America!

Front to back- Riley, Payton, Evan

We woke up this morning and decided we hadn't had enough running around (yeah right!) and decided after baths we would take the clan to run around Barnes and Noble to play and pick out some new books. After we explored every inch and fell off of a few benches we packed up to the food court for a little lunch. I planned ahead (duh) and packed lunch for the boys and they enjoyed it while getting a good dose of people-watching. We ended the trip with a lap through Target and made it home just in time for the afternoon nap. The (5) boys enjoyed a snooze while I went through boxes in the basement before enjoying some downtime reading on the Kindle. The day ended with another venture out (seriously!) to have dinner with G&G Waind.

It was a FULL weekend and we enjoyed it very much!

No more bottles??

We decided not to bring bottles to the lake this weekend and it went really well! We are still only using the straw sippies and only one brand at that, hoping they get the hang of other varieties soon because Brody has a cupboard of them just waiting to be shared. We had a busy day visiting with lots of friends during the day and a bunch of family tonight! It was fun to watch the boys stumble around and gets lots of attention all while going with the flow and adapting to their surroundings- they are growing up so quick! Brody got to do a bit of fishing off the dock with uncle T and they were even successful a few times!

The Lake!

We made it to Lake Metigoshe, we didn't back shorts and sunscreen but will enjoy the wknd with friends and family bundled up! It's cooooold outside :( Not ALL those boxes were diapers yesterday, a couple boxes were the trips new portable high chairs- just in time. After dinner Riley explored a bit, Dad rocked Evan and Payton and Brody didn't want his picture taken :)

PT update

Payton is doing really well with his physical therapy! We tried a block puzzle today which made me realize that the boys could really benefit from some more 1x1 time. That is something we really struggle with and often feel guilty about :( He was so excited to have a puzzle all to himself he just wanted to hoard all the pieces and not let them go. I may need to let some gmas/aunties/friends take one of the trips on special playdates and Ben and I need to start taking them out solo as well. It sounds so easy- it just never happens that way! Payton also cruised around with the shopping cart, climbed up and down stairs and played with some balls. We continued some therapy at home tonight and it was a hit with all the boys! They love climbing and I'm not sure why we don't pull the cushions off the couch more often- it entertained them for quite some time.

B's in charge

Brody decided he wanted to show the boys some nursery rhymes on the iPad while they finished dinner and I went through some mail. They thought it was pretty neat! I guess you could count this as part 2 of house tour, it's the breakfast nook in the kitchen and it's not finished- ha! The space works for what we need right now and that's just fine :)

BBQ

It was a perfect night to make last minute arrangements (thanks Gma S!) to go to our good friends birthday BBQ! Brody was pretty tuckered out by 5pm but when we asked him if he wanted to go to Jake's he perked right up! He had such determination setting up his favorite game (bean bag toss) and had fun with a LOT of kids (young and old!) It was a perfect evening with good friends!! (Minot looks pretty good when your up on the hill!)

Beautiful Day

This is what a post-flood front yard looks like, our good neighbors are still in their FEMA trailer (located in their front-lawn) but they are almost in too- yahoo!

Gma S and Brody checking out the river at the end of the street, it's not so mighty this June- thank goodness!!!

Daddy pushing the crew around the neighborhood

Uncle T brought his puppy Dahli over for the day, she entertained B and the trips for hours!

 Gma S and Payton

 Riley has no fear....ever

I was lucky enough to get a bunch of snuggles from my sweet niece, and boy was I in heaven!!! How good do I look with a little girl in my lap!?!?!! Thank goodness for nieces ;)

Gpa and Gma with their 4 youngest grandsons~ Brody and Bell were upstairs playing and I had Addie securely in my lap ! We had a houseful of littles and family and it was pretty sweet :)

P did not like the surprise attack

Evan sitting down for a little snack

The snacks are so good I don't want to put them down....but I need some milk too....

 I can just get this....
 ..up to my lips....
Success!! You put your snack down in this house and it is sure to swiped by a brother- Evan is no fool!
Riley looking cute as ever

What a day! And I didn't even post pictures of all of the boxes I went through in the basement this morning, the 2nd walk of the day after the (short) PM nap, pre-bedtime play on the deck (where Riley ate rocks and acorns, Brody hacked dandelions with a stick, and we all laughed), and the delicious dinner we shared with Tyson and my Mom! Phew....I am tired...but it surely was, a beautiful day.

House Tour Part 1

Thanks for all the great ideas from my post yesterday! Love you guys! I have lots to blog about now but I am going to be smart and spread and the love among multiple posts- otherwise I would be stumped again by tomorrow.

Here are a few shots of Brody's new "red" room like he wanted...and was very firm about, know matter how many times I tried to get him to pick a different color! It's bright but he loves it and I think it turned out perfect for him.

The cute door hanger from Gma S- love it!

The Route 66 was the first thing I bought when we decided on a theme. Also notice all of the superhero squad characters lined up on top of his dresser, they watch him while he sleeps and protect us all.

I love this toddler bed from IKEA, hard to believe that soon we will need to hand it down to the boys and buy 2 more!! I tried to move some of the animals off of his bed burns insists that each one stays. His favorites always his puppy-lovey, but also cuddles with his blue sock monkey, caterpillar and lightening McQueen, among others :)

It's a small little room- but perfect for right now :) His closet is full of a million of his favorite books, more toys, memorabilia, clothes, and all that fun stuff that I can close behind the doors and not share the mess with you!

Questions??

I don't know if the crazy week of sickness or recent life-changing-decisions (more to come on that) is the cause of my writers block, but I'm stumped! I committed to a 365 day blog post challenge (which I have already failed but pretending I haven't) and I am finding it hard to come up with things to share that I feel any of you would care about! I could, and may, just post a random pic of the day (like I often do) but on nights when I realize I didn't take any pictures- its kinda hard!! So, tell me- what do you want to know??? I will do my best to provide you with thoughtful and honest answers :)

5 minutes

We had 5 minutes of fun and no fussing tonight! Let's hope this means we are all on the mend in time for the weekend! Evan is the last babe to get better, he just gets beside himself upset at times and isn't happy until you lay him down to rest- poor bug. I am hoping that my sweats/chills will be gone tomorrow as well- it's really not an attractive look at work!

Here are some pictures of the boys playing, laughing, chasing, and being silly, for a whole five minutes tonight ;)

Sweet Evan, haven't seen this smile much this week....doesn't he look thin!!?!?

Brody thought it was pretty funny when Evan walked with the hat covering his face- he did pretty good and didn't run into any furniture!

Smiley Payton!
